Sobriety checkpoints are common in Missouri, particularly around holidays. While sobriety checkpoints have been important in countering drunk driving, there could be changes coming this year as the state legislature debates whether DWI checkpoints should be included in the budget.
None of us know when an accident is just around the corner; after all, we can't control other motorists and whether they are operating a vehicle while distracted or under the influence, or driving too fast for weather conditions. Accidents happen; it's a fact of life, even when drivers are paying close attention to the roadways.

Those who have suffered mild to major brain injury unfortunately face a major life changing event. The CDC (The Center for Disease Control) estimates that every year 1.4 million individuals in America suffer brain injuries. There are over 5 million individuals in America that require long term care due to a traumatic brain injury (aka TBI). All too often, brain injuries can have a major and detrimental effect on the individual and their family. Traumatic Brain Injuries are typically caused by blunt force that disrupts normal brain function, and TBI cases often times leave lifelong effects on the victim.
